A new baby to love…and a status to update

Friday, August 20th, 2010

So, I can’t update too much because we are up at the hospital excitedly awaiting the impending arrival of my nephew, Liam.  My SIL, Alexis’s water broke at 5:30 this morning and we arrived up here at around 8 or so.

So now we’re all sitting around here checking facebook.  Ahhh, the internet age.

Will keep you updated when he arrives.  Squee!  Squishy nephew to snuggle!  Yeah!

Edited to Update:

7:06 pm–Liam is currently hung up on her pelvic bone…so they’ll start pushing in a little while.  We did a few practice pushes but he’s not quite wanting to slide right out.

Well…that’s a boy for you!

The Photo TOO racy/revealing for Facebook

Tuesday, May 4th, 2010

Makenna RoseThis is the photo someone found offensive on facebook.  Facebook, then, supposedly, reviewed the photo and decided it was, in fact, offensive and sent me an email explaining that one of my pictures had been reviewed, deemed inappropriate and removed.  I deduced (quite easily) that this one was the one removed.  I’m a wee bit surprised because, honestly, I don’t find anything offensive about this photo…in fact, I find it quite sweet.  Makenna’s little hand and cheek are adorable and nomy and I would just like to chew her sweet cheeks a little more.

The pissy part is that I believe it had to be a facebook friend (or friend of a friend) who “turned in” this photo to the nudity police.  Actually, they are specifically the police of nudity, offensive material, drugs, etc on facebook.  Generally, I do not open up my photo albums to anyone other than my friends.  But I made an exception because I know my SIL has friends (whom I don’t know) who would like to see the pictures.  I suppose it’s likely that one of my “friends” found this highly offensive enough to submit it for review but I rather wish that person had just chosen to de-friend me.

I have often seen pictures that I find unappealing for whatever reason.  Generally, my response is NOT to submit them for review but to simply NO LONGER LOOK AT THEM.  Especially considering that this was posted on my personal facebook page.  Of course, it’s not a huge deal for me to not have this particular picture on my facebook page.  But then again, it’s not a big deal for any particular person to ignore what is, in my opinion, a benign picture.
