I do not know cakeburnette, but I love her just the same. We have said “no” and “no” again to Boyscouts. Thankfully Alec hasn’t done the “puleeeeze MOM!” thing in a few years, and I had my own little personal bad experience with them Alec’s Kindergarten summer…and it left a sour taste in my mouth. Not to mention, they rustic camp…yup, I love camping in my camper with it’s “cleaned by me” bathroom. Not happening.

I echo “JUST SAY NO!”

Oh, and kudos to the Umbridge reference…I had the character (my mind’s one, not from the movie) in my head as reading…LOVE it!

Okay, so you know I am like your wiser older sister and I am advising you to SAY NO TO DREW ON THE CUB SCOUTS. SAY IT LOUD AND SAY IT PROUD.

Yes, the organization has many great qualities. Yes, I imagine Drew would enjoy it greatly. But! And it’s a great big ole “BUT” that is not listed anywhere on the colorful material the BSA sends home with your a-quivering child: Cub Scouts are run by VOLUNTEERS. PARENT VOLUNTEERS. And we all know what that means. The stay-at-home moms get everything dumped on them because everyone else “has a job.” Trust me, I’m the voice of experience. Say “NO.” And stick to you guns. I’m here for you if you need support.

(And yes, Austin is in his 8th year of scouting. But once they get out of Cub Scouting, the parent involvement level goes down to “drop off/pick up” unless you actually LIKE scouting activities. I go and eat a couple of times a year and see Austin get badges. Tell Drew he can always join scout “next year” and keep it up until he’s in the 6th grade.)

I would totally hire you especially when you specific credentials listed in #3. I am doing all I can to gain you employment…and failing greatly. Perhaps it is that I too posess said snarkiness…and well, I guess that’s not everyone’s cup-a.

I love you and continue to keep my ear to the grindstone…ouch!

Seriously, it is but a blink and they are loving their freshman year of high school…amazing how fast time flies. I sure hope she enjoyed her newly cleaned room…I know I appreciate when my mommy cleans mine

hmmm…might need to talk to you about this Mirena chick…… I am seriously contemplating just going with TOTAL removal of it all and just be done with it. Very hard decision to make.
